GMA Network is upgrading its broadcast operations through a strategic partnership with global video technology firm Synamedia and local distributor Telered Technologies and Services Corp., accelerating its shift to IP and cloud-based delivery.

Using Synamedia’s Quortex Link platform, GMA will distribute its international channels—GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV—more efficiently and reliably, enabling cost savings, faster market expansion, and improved viewing quality for Filipinos worldwide.

The agreement was formalized during a contract signing on Dec. 16 at the GMA Network Center in Quezon City.

GMA executives said the move from satellite to IP has streamlined workflows, reduced operational complexity, and strengthened long-term sustainability. Synamedia and Telered officials described the transition as a model for broadcasters modernizing their distribution systems.

“Moving from satellite to IP has allowed us to significantly cut costs and streamline our operations. With Synamedia’s technology and support, and Telered’s technical expertise and end-to-end capabilities, we’ve simplified our workflows, reduced complexity, and improved efficiency across the board,” said Joseph Francia, First Vice President and Head of GMA International Operations.”

GMA’s migration to cloud-based distribution began in 2023 in the Middle East and North Africa, expanded to Asia-Pacific in 2024, and is now in its final phase covering the United States and Canada. The initiative underscores the Network’s push to expand its global digital footprint while delivering a high-quality viewing experience to audiences overseas.
